Some products have two common generic names, such as vitamin C and ascorbic acid. Click here to see a list of synonyms.

Use the generic or international nonproprietary name (INN)

The same product is manufactured under many different names, depending on the company and the target country. This database only contains the generic (usually INN) names of drugs.

Scroll through the alphabetical list
You may be misspelling the product name. Try scrolling through the alphabetical list of products. You can do this by going to the search page and clicking on the first letter of the product name you are looking for. This will return a list of all product names in the database beginning with that letter.

Scroll through the therapeutic category list
If you know which therapeutic category the product falls into go to the search page, scroll down the list of categories and click on the one which best describes the product you are looking for.
